Natural Resource Use Programme

This program is designed for those who want to work with plants, animals, land, water, or forest. You can start working immediately after the education or continue studying. Basic eligibility is included in the program to enable further studies at the university level.

What You Will Learn

  • You will learn to critically review and reflect on how you can use nature sustainably.

  • You will gain a greater understanding of nature’s diversity and how different activities affect nature.

  • You will also learn biology, ecology, technology, and economics.

  • Parts of the education take place at one or more workplaces for at least 15 weeks (Internship/APL).

Specializations and Jobs:

Nature Tourism

You will learn how natural resources can be managed and made accessible to visitors and how to guide their nature experience.

Examples of jobs:

  • Nature guide, sport fishing guide, work in hunting and wildlife management, or specialty stores.

Animal Care

 You will learn about animals, animal behavior, and the interaction between animals and humans.

Examples of jobs:

  • Animal caretaker,
  • Working with dogs
  • Pet store jobs

Equine Management

You will learn about the horse as a biological entity, its behavior, and the interaction between horse and human.

Examples of jobs:

  • Horse groomer

Agriculture

You will learn about land, plants, animals, economics, technology, and natural resource management.

Examples of jobs:

  • Machine operator
  • Animal keeper

Forestry

You will learn about the forest as a sustainable resource and deepen your knowledge in technology and biology.

Examples of jobs:

  • Forest machine operator
  • Forest manager

Horticulture

You will learn about land, plants, plant environments, and the significance of gardens in society.

Examples of jobs:

  • Garden landscaping
  • Garden maintenance
  • Horticultural cultivation
