The Electricity and Energy Programme
This program is for those who want to work with electrical installations, automated production systems, energy, environmental and water technology, or computers and communication. You can start working right after the education or continue studying. Basic eligibility is included in the program to allow further studies at a university level.
What You Learn
- You learn about production, installation, and distribution of systems for electricity, energy, and water.
- You also learn about electrical and energy technology, automation, computer and communication technology, and IT infrastructure.
- You study safety issues such as standards and information security.
- Parts of the education take place in one or more workplaces for at least 15 weeks (Internship/APL).
Specializations and Jobs:
Automation Technology
You learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated production systems.
Example jobs:
- Automation technician in real estate, industry, or process.
- Mechatronics technician
Computer and Communication Technology
You learn to install, administer, and repair systems for computers and communication.
Example jobs:
- IT technician
- Technical sales representative
- Home service technician
- Network technician
Electrical Technology
You learn to install and repair electrical installations, alarms, and systems for TV and computers.
Example jobs:
- Industrial electrician
- Railway electrician – electrical and signal
- Elevator installer
- Alarm and security technician
Energy Technology
You learn about operation and service functions in energy, environmental, water, and process industries.
Example jobs:
- Operational operator in power and heating technology or water and environmental technology
